Versus FLARE school
Versus is not an ordinary paragliding school, but focuses 100% on soaring at the coast. To help kiters without flying experience, Versus has put together a package with 2 x 2 hours of theory and 3 x 3 hours of practice.
In the theory course, we cover the sport of paragliding in general, and soaring in particular.
During the practical sessions, the focus is initially on ground handling: you learn to control the wing on the beach and perfect your launch technique. Once you can move with the wing over the beach without any issues, we kite up the dune and make a number of flights, during which you will be assisted via radio.
We expect that non-kiters will need 1 to 2 more ground handling sessions to gain sufficient control over the wing and to have the launch technique at the required level before a first flight can be made.
The theory is taught in the evenings at Versus in The Hague, with practical sessions depending on the conditions at the beach between The Hague and Castricum. The package as described above costs EUR 999,-. An additional practical session costs EUR 300,-. Use of the FLARE parakite and harness is, of course, included.
